Gifted Program to Offer $50,000 in Scholarships
STAMFORD, CT – The Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG) is pleased to announce the offering of up to 100 $500 Merit Scholarships for gifted students towards a 2007 residential program.
The SIG Merit Scholarship is open to students in grades 4 through 11 who are applying for SIG's residential summer program and fulfill SIG's eligibility requirements. All SIG Merit Scholarships applications must be received before February 28th, 2007.
SIG Merit Scholarship applicants must submit an original 500-750 word essay addressing the question:
As an academically talented student, discuss some of the opportunities and/or challenges that you have had or think you might have in the future. The opportunities or challenges can be academic, personal, social, or other kinds.
SIG Merit Scholarship recipients will be selected based on the following criteria (age level will be taken into consideration): coherent language, compelling viewpoints and creativity.

SIG offers their day program at Bryn Mawr College, Fairfield University, Manhattanville College, Moorestown Friends School and Stuart Country Day School. Affiliate programs are held at the Alexander Dawson School, Hofstra University, and Staten Island Academy.
